Lufthansa is taking the in-flight experience to new heights this winter — literally. The airline’s highly anticipated Allegris cabins have officially landed on long-haul flights departing from Frankfurt, including the Frankfurt–Toronto route, along with new service to Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Hyderabad, and Austin.
For travellers who have travelled on Lufthansa’s older 2-3-2 Business Class layout, this is a huge upgrade. The new Allegris cabin has an alternating 1-2-1 / 1-1-1 layout and promises a completely modernized experience, and I’m definitely excited to try it for myself.
The Allegris cabin experience is one of the boldest product overhauls in Lufthansa’s history, part of a €2.5 billion investment across its fleet by 2025.
Every cabin class, from Economy to First, has been redesigned for comfort, technology, and privacy. Business Class is the real standout.
On the Toronto–Frankfurt route, Lufthansa’s Boeing 787-9 now features the airline’s brand-new Allegris Business Class, offering a completely redesigned experience with:
The suite-style options — extra space, extra-long beds, or double suites for couples — are a major leap forward from the old 2-3-2 layout.
For Aeroplan members, this is exciting news. For example, a one-way Business Class ticket from Toronto to Frankfurt on certain dates can cost 333,000 points plus fees, but Lufthansa-operated flights sometimes go for as low as 60,000 points plus fees. That’s a serious bargain for a premium cabin that’s getting a lot of buzz.
Flying from Toronto, travellers can now experience Lufthansa’s new Allegris Business Class on the nonstop flight to Frankfurt — and connect onward to dozens of destinations across Europe and beyond. Whether it’s Paris, Rome, Vienna, or Prague, Frankfurt serves as a key hub offering smooth same-day connections throughout the Lufthansa network.
Beyond Toronto, Lufthansa is also rolling out Allegris service to Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Hyderabad, and Austin this winter.
Whether you’re a business traveller heading to tech hubs like Austin and Hyderabad, or a tourist exploring Rio’s beaches or Bogotá’s culture, the upgraded cabin promises a more comfortable long-haul experience — something I’m personally excited to try.
Frankfurt remains a key European gateway, and Lufthansa’s Allegris-equipped aircraft now offer a competitive, modern Business Class product for Canadians. Even Economy and Premium Economy passengers benefit from ergonomic seats, larger entertainment screens, and more personal space.
If you’ve been dreaming of a European getaway — or just want a more comfortable way to fly for work — now’s the perfect time to check out Lufthansa’s new Allegris Business Class from Toronto to Frankfurt.
For anyone used to the older Business Class layout, this cabin is a game-changer — and it’s officially on my travel wishlist!
Book your flight and be among some of the first Canadians to experience the next generation of premium air travel on Lufthansa.
