The countdown to the FIFA World Cup 26™ is on! Starting September 10, 2025, Visa cardholders get exclusive first access to tickets through the Visa Presale Draw. This historic tournament will feature 48 teams playing 104 matches across three host countries — making it the greatest World Cup yet.

How It Works

Register at FIFA.com/tickets today to create your FIFA ID, then apply between September 10-19 for your chance to purchase tickets. Selected fans will be notified by September 30 and assigned specific purchase time slots in October.

The process is straightforward but competitive. FIFA will use a random selection system to choose successful applicants from the pool of Visa cardholders who apply during the 10-day window. This means every eligible fan has a fair shot at securing tickets, regardless of when they submit their application during the presale period.

Why This World Cup Is Different

This isn’t just another World Cup — it’s a continental celebration. With matches spanning the United States, Canada, and Mexico, fans will have unprecedented access to diverse cultures, cities, and experiences all within one tournament. The expanded 48-team format means more nations, more stories, and more unforgettable moments than ever before.

The tournament’s scale is massive: 104 matches compared to the traditional 64, giving fans more opportunities to witness history in the making. From the bustling metropolises of Los Angeles and Toronto to the vibrant energy of Mexico City, each host city will bring its own flavour to the beautiful game.

Don’t Have a Visa Card?

You’ll need either a Visa Credit, Visa Debit, or Visa Prepaid Card for this exclusive presale! Since you’re already planning international travel for the World Cup, this is the perfect opportunity to choose a Visa card that maximizes your travel rewards and benefits.

Many Canadian Visa cards offer excellent perks for World Cup travellers:

  • Travel insurance coverage for your international trip
  • Rewards points or miles for flights and hotels
  • No foreign transaction fees across North America
  • Airport lounge access for those long travel days

Beyond the Presale

If you’re not selected in the Visa presale, don’t worry. FIFA will announce additional ticket sales phases in September, each with different purchasing processes. However, this first phase offers the best opportunity to secure tickets for the specific matches and venues you want most.

Given the tournament’s expanded format and the fact that it’s the first World Cup in North America since 1994, demand is expected to be extraordinary. The Visa presale gives cardholders a significant advantage in what will likely be one of the most competitive ticket sales in sports history.

Best of luck with the presale!
