Yes, You Can Fly Non-Stop From Toronto or Montreal to Tokyo!

If you’re from Toronto or Montreal, and Japan has been sitting on your travel wish list, this might be the nudge you’ve been waiting for.

Air Canada offers direct, non-stop flights from both cities to Tokyo Narita. This is great, as instead of transferring in Vancouver, you can hop on one flight and arrive in Japan in 12-14 hours.

What is the pricing like? Let’s break down what we’ve found below.

The Original Deal

Recently on December 18, 2025, we found round-trip pricing as low as $1,166 CAD — an incredible price to travel half-way around the world.

To put that into perspective, these flights were roughly $900 cheaper than usual, which is huge for a premium long-haul route like Japan.

Naturally, deals like this don’t stay perfectly static for long.

Updated Pricing as of December 29, 2025

As of today on December 29, 2025, prices have increased but they’re still very competitive for direct flights to Japan on a full-service carrier like Air Canada.

Here’s where things currently stand:

Toronto (YYZ) → Tokyo (NRT): From $1,441 CAD round trip on Air Canada (non-stop)

Montreal (YUL) → Tokyo (NRT): From $1,347 CAD round trip on Air Canada (non-stop)

Will Prices Drop Again?

It’s very likely.

Flight pricing, especially on long-haul routes, fluctuates constantly based on demand, inventory, and airline revenue strategies. While the rock-bottom $1,166 fares aren’t available at the moment, it’s not uncommon to see prices dip again for specific date ranges, especially outside peak cherry blossom and summer travel periods.

If you’re flexible with timing, there’s a strong chance better pricing could reappear.
