Winter in Canada can be beautiful, but let’s be honest – sometimes you just need to escape to warmer climates! And Porter Airlines is making it easier than ever to chase the sun this season.
Porter is significantly expanding their network with some fantastic new routes from major Canadian cities. If you’ve been dreaming of swapping snow boots for sandals, these announcements are going to make your day.
Here’s what’s landing on Porter’s schedule:
From Ottawa: Miami service starts January 24, 2026, getting you to South Beach in no time. Then on February 7, 2026, Phoenix joins the lineup, giving Ottawa travellers direct access to Arizona’s desert sunshine.
From Montreal: Nassau launches February 5, 2026 – hello, Bahamas!
From Vancouver: Phoenix kicks off on February 2, 2026, giving West Coast travellers a fantastic new option for chasing the sun.
But that’s not all. Porter isn’t just adding new destinations – they’re also increasing flight frequency to popular sun spots from Toronto Pearson, Ottawa, and Hamilton. More flights mean more flexibility for your travel dates, making it easier to snag that perfect winter getaway when you need it most.
Whether you’re flying non-stop or connecting through one of Porter’s six convenient airports across Canada, you’ll enjoy a seriously comfortable journey south.
The beauty of Porter’s expanded network is that no matter where you are in Canada, you’ve got access to amazing sun destinations.
From Toronto Pearson alone, you can already fly to Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Phoenix.
And coming soon? Miami (October 24), Tampa (October 31), Cancun (November 5), Puerto Vallarta (November 14), Nassau (November 26), Liberia, Costa Rica (December 4), Palm Springs (December 11), West Palm Beach (December 15), and Grand Cayman (December 16).
Ottawa travellers have Fort Lauderdale and Orlando available now, with Fort Myers, Tampa, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, Cancun, Liberia, and Grand Cayman all launching this December – plus those exciting new Miami and Phoenix routes in early 2026.
Montreal gets Fort Lauderdale service starting November 1, Fort Myers on December 1, and that brand new Nassau route in February.
Halifax travellers can head to Orlando starting November 1.
Hamilton offers Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Cancun, and Puerto Vallarta throughout December.
Here’s what I love about flying Porter to these sun destinations: the journey is just as enjoyable as the destination itself. Picture this – you’re settling into your seat (no middle seats, by the way!), connecting to their free, fast-streaming WiFi to binge your favourite shows, and enjoying complimentary Canadian beer, wine, and snacks.
And their onboard menu? It’s packed with fresh, delicious meal options that actually make you excited about airplane food. The warm, friendly service just adds to the whole experience, getting your vacation vibes started before you even land.
So if you’re ready to trade winter chills for tropical thrills, Porter’s got you covered with more ways than ever to get to the sun. Time to start planning that escape!
